06 Jul Anna July 4th Fireworks Show
We had a wonderful time celebrating our Independence Day with the community during our City of Anna 4th of July Fireworks Show. This was held the evening of July 4th at the Anna Coyote Football Stadium. The City of Anna Community Development Corporation sponsored the event. The Greater Anna Chamber’s role was to plan and coordinate the event with our City officials, Anna ISD and the professional fireworks company. We appreciate the Fire and Police Departments for protecting our guests during this event, as well as, with directing traffic afterwards. The estimated attendance was 1,500 in the stadium and over 1,000 in their vehicles between the parking lots at Anna Middle School, Slayter Creek Park and Anna High School. Volunteers included our Board of Directors, Ambassador Team and the local Boy Scouts / Cub Scouts. This celebration would not be possible without out the support of our Planning and Development Department, City Council and City Manager.
The program began at 9:15pm with a welcome and invocation by Anna Mayor Nate Pike. This was followed by Anna Troop 293 presenting the colors while Haley Cain beautifully sang our National Anthem. Immediately afterwards, DEA Special Agent Henry Biddle bestowed our Chamber with a United States flag that was flown over Kabul, Afghanistan on Flag Day 2014. Right at 9:30pm our Fireworks Show began and lasted over 15 minutes. Again, we had a “blast” (excuse the pun) during this celebration of Independence Day and look forward to next year!
